Basic Behemoth Edits

Developmental editing is the first major stop in refining a manuscript after you’ve completed self-edits and beta readers have given their input. The process includes giving feedback regarding issues with pacing, plot holes, timeline/setting/character inconsistencies, and anything else that detracts from the overall flow, readability, and enjoyment. Similar to a manuscript evaluation, but far more in-depth, the developmental edit looks to pinpoint structure, content, and coherence issues.

As your developmental editor, I’ll perform two passes of the manuscript, leaving comments along the way that flag each of the abovementioned issues, as well as suggestions on how to fix them. It also includes a Word document with an overall assessment of the project.
